It is our humble privilege at SafeCare Magazine to honor the 45th President of the United States with our 2017 Safe Care Person of the Year, President Donald J. Trump. “The time has come to take action to improve access, increase choices, and lower costs for healthcare,” stated President Donald J. Trump. This was not only one of President Trump’s platform promises but it has now become a mission of his administration. In this issue, we are highlighting President Trump’s executive order on health care to allow the sale of health insurance across state lines, expand insurance options, and end taxpayer subsidies (corporate welfare) to billion dollar insurance companies.
With this recognition, we also want to highlight how President Trump has authorized his cabinet to look into ways of giving Americans a truly competitive national marketplace and getting businesses to set up "tax-free health reimbursement arrangements" for workers. President Trump’s other healthcare accomplishments include new initiatives for veterans like the use of video technology and diagnostic tools to remotely conduct medical examinations, and allowing veterans to use mobile devices and computers to schedule, reschedule or cancel appointments at VA facilities. In addition, we commend the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis which finally allows the full resources of the government to tackle a medical epidemic.
